TOPIC 1- AESTHETIC PLANNING
Patients are becoming more conscious of their smile aesthetics and as a result, are seeking dental procedures to fulfil their desires of a pleasing smile. We as dentists must understand what makes up an aesthetic smile, how to diagnose unpleasing aesthetic parameters, and how to treatment plan the patient case for a successful improvement in the smile. The lecture series will break down the complexities of smile aesthetics and give those who attend a formula for success when considering, planning and treating patients with aesthetic concerns. Cases will be discussed from diagnosis to completion which will give an opportunity for participants to work up cases and see the possibilities various dental treatments have for completing and developing a desirable smile.
TOPIC 2- MASTERING OCCLUSION
Dental occlusion is a cornerstone of daily practice and an area in which clinicians must be well versed. This course is a “to the point” lecture series on the occlusion related topics pertinent to daily practice. It is designed to equip the astute clinician with up to date knowledge of both fundamental and advanced occlusal concepts. A framework will be presented which is easy to follow and employ in daily practice when dental occlusion is a consideration in patient management. Occlusion can be a “heavy” topic however this course is designed to “lighten” it up and ensure you get the most out of it! The day will end with exercises in TMJ assessment as well as positioning exercises for centric relation, as well as “bite” registration techniques.
