Diploma in Dental Implantology (EduQual Level 7)

OVERVIEW

The Diploma in Dental Implantology (EduQual Level 7) is a comprehensive course comprising all three modules of the implant dentistry program. Designed for dental professionals seeking a complete and formally recognised pathway, the Diploma must be completed within a 24-month timeframe.

In addition to completing Modules 1, 2, and 3, participants are required to successfully complete a series of academic and clinical assessments to be awarded the Diploma. These assessments ensure competency across both theoretical and practical domains of implant dentistry and align with EduQual Level 7 standards.

Diploma Assessment Requirements

To obtain the Diploma, participants must complete:

  • A literature review submitted to Dr Innes
  • A multiple-choice examination, which may be sat on the final day of Module 3
  • A case presentation based on cases completed during the modules

Course Structure & Registration

  • Includes Modules 1, 2, and 3, with all existing module information and scheduled dates retained
  • Participants have 24 months to complete all modules and assessments
  • When registering via the website, participants must select course dates for Module 1 and Module 2, followed by a “Complete Module within 2027” option for Module 3 (no fixed date)

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

  • Applicants seeking RPL must submit an enquiry via the website prior to registration
  • RPL assessment and eligibility are reviewed individually

  • Diploma Package Fee: $36,000 + GST
  • Payment available via credit card or GoCardless payment plans
  • Payment Plans Available:
    • $3,300 per month over 12 months
    • $1,650 per month over 24 months

4 Days of Lectures, Hands-on models and Hands-on Patients (supplied by us)

Lectures on Case selection, Implant componentry, Extraction sectioning, grafting material and achieving primary closure at the extraction site

Hand on models-

  • Implant impressions- Digital and Conventional
  • Custom abutments
  • Fabrication of provisional crowns
  • Suturing

Socket grafting material handling

Hands on patients-

  • Take impressions Digitally and Conventionally on your given patient (supplied by us)
  • Fit a final dental implant restoration on a patient
  • Performed at least two atraumatic extractions on your given patient
  • Socket graft your extraction sites
  • Achieve primary closure with suturing techniques

Hands on –

  • Implant surgery- drilling protocols, Drilling into bone models
  • Fabrication of surgical guide for your patient
  • Blue Sky planning
  • Suturing techniques

Hands on patients-

  • Set up full sterile field in the surgery
  • Place 2 dental implants on your given patient
  • Fit and use surgical guides
  • Achieve primary closure with suturing techniques

Lectures on Case selection, Implant planning, Immediate implants, Sinus Augmentation,  Implant placement- Full Arch Immediate and final full arch bridges.

Hands on –

  • Implant surgery- drilling protocols, Drilling into bone models
  • Sinus Augmentation techniques
  • Fabrication of surgical guides for your patients
  • Blue Sky planning
  • Suturing techniques

Hands on patients-

  • Set up full sterile field in the surgery
  • Fit and use surgical guides
  • Achieve primary closure with suturing techniques
  • Multiple surgeries covering full arch with immediate load, immediate implants and sinus augmentation. *Cases can be customized depending on your level of experience and what you would like to get out of the course

The Dental CPD Diploma in Dental Implantology is excited to offer clinicians the opportunity to submit previous courses attended with DentalCPD or other external providers for RPL.  You will be asked to submit details of the attended course including topics covered, modules completed, cases performed on models or on patients and number of hours spent at the course.  Photo/case studies of cases completed may be required.  Once submitted Dr Mitch Innes can personalise your diploma pathway based on modules we can credit partially or in full.
